EFLM Considers Proposals Three Times per Year

The EFLM Allocations Committee accepts applications on a rolling basis for consideration approximately every three months. For consideration in the 2013-14 cycle, completed applications should be submitted to the Foundation by November 1, 2013; February 1, 2014; or May 1, 2014.

Grant applicants are not expected to attend the Allocations Committee meetings. Notification is generally made within four weeks of the meeting.

Proposals may be submitted by district administrators, staff and faculty members, and/or parents. The appropriate building principal or district administrator must approve the proposal before it is submitted.

The Foundation seeks to make grants across all grade levels and all ten schools within the Lower Merion School District. The minimum grant awarded is $1,000; the maximum grant is generally $5,000, but this amount may be exceeded in special circumstances.

The EFLM does not support items or services that are regularly part of the school budget, nor does it grant individual scholarships.

At the heart of the Education Foundation of Lower Merion is its Grants program.

Open to teachers, administrators, parents, or community members with innovative ideas that enhance LMSD’s educational program, the Grants program since 2007 has allocated over $150,000 in funds in a variety of areas.
